| The drive between Tucson and San Diego is
probably my favorite stretch of freeway in the desert Southwest. I had
been watching this storm build while heading east and caught up to it
where the freeway is closest to Mexico, just a few miles outside of
Yuma. The sun and rain were pouring down together on the Montañas de Mexico just
across the border while where I stood remained bone dry. It’s these
paradoxes of the desert that both elude and draw me to her. |
