| My best friend during my years at New England
School of Photograph grew up on Long Island. He told me he
wanted to show me where he grew up. Being from New Mexico and
always looking to explore new areas, I jumped at the chance!! He
said there was an island off Long Island's coast called Fire
Island that he wanted me to see. Apparently it's about a mile
wide and 150 miles long. We hopped a ferry and took the ride
over. We had to cross this boardwalk through the marshes to get
to the center of the island. Of all the pictures I shot that
day, this is the one I liked the best: the one of him standing
in the middle of the boardwalk looking off into the distance
remembering his youth while I created my own Boardwalk
